These are from the most recent Greenbelt Arts show, Metropolis of Mediocrity: Perspectives of Downtown St. Catharines.

Junctions and Pathways 

“I’ve always had a knack for directions and maps. When I was a child I knew how to get anywhere in St. Catharines and when I went somewhere new I would memorize how to get there. Where ever I was I would always think about what direction (N, S, W, E)  I was facing and compare it to the direction my bedroom faced. These designs are inspired by different intersections and trails in and around the downtown core that i’ve always liked or that have intrigued me.” 

Using the art of graphic design Greer appropriates the trails, street intersections, foot and bike paths around downtown into smooth linear symbols. The piece reflects on the opportunity to create your own with in downtown St. Catharines, using others’ old ideas to create our own new, reinventing not only physical but also creative paths in the downtown community.
